These pastelitos de guayaba (guava pastries) are very popular in Latin American cuisine. They are easy to make and delicious.

These delicious pastries filled with guava paste, known as pastelitos de guayaba, are a popular Latin dessert that you’ll find in many Latin bakeries (panaderias) around the world.
In Colombia, we make these pastelitos with guava paste alone, and sometimes we add white cheese to the filling. Either way, they are absolutely fantastic! We also have another variation called pasteles gloria. Get ready… those are filled with guava paste, cheese, and dulce de leche!

My absolute favorite desserts are the ones that are the simplest and easiest to prepare. The kind that can be whipped up in thirty minutes or less from start to finish. When it comes to sweets, it doesn’t take much to please me. Give me a couple of pastelitos de guayaba with a cup of black coffee for dessert or a snack and I will be delighted.
